Yanno Sam, I have grown up with a streetbike under me since I was 14. When I was 14 to about 18, bikes came before chiqs. During that time, I lived on Mulholland Drive & Hwy and Angeles Crest, in California, wearing holes in the knees of my Levi's constantly. I followed track racing (Kenny Roberts, Eddie Lawson, etc...). I thought I knew bikes as I lived, breathed and crashed them. Growing older, I thought I knew old bikes (70's & 80's) well, until about four months ago.
Four months ago, I came back to this site (I was here for short stint some time ago). I have learned that I didn't know Jack (or his brother).
Reading and seeing people like yourself, MCRider and a few other folk here have made my jaw drop at the stuff you guys have done and been involved with since the early 70's and prior and still hard into it. I admire y'all quite a lot! Oh, and jealous too.
There are a lot of what I call youngin's on here that are quite inspiring as well.
It has taken 30 years for me to realize that I missed out on a whole lot even though my life was consumed with it. I started with a CB and I have one again. Honda is truly sensational (I am sober by the way).
Thanks Sam, MCRider and all of you SOHC4 members that have helped me and opened my eyes to what I have missed.
_Rick
PS. Sorry for the book, I am known for that, lol. It comes from creating a document database (database also), for global help desk. Maybe I'll post something from when I was flat out drunk.
