Wow, that inspiration gallery was awesome! I've been looking everywhere for inspiration when I started my project and wish I'd have seen this sooner. There's a lot of really nice cafe bikes there, but does anyone have any bobber style photos for inspiration? Let's see em'!

Thanks. Sure is nice to see a Honda SOHC on this site again! I was afraid we'd turned into just another Sofa-Davidson site! Kinda like getting a boner over customized Massey-Fergusen tractors. Yeehaw!

I have been waiting till it's done, then I was going to make a thread about it. There is still a fair amount of work left to be done. Those pictures are just me mocking stuff up and getting the motor so I can make sure it runs. I had to replace the head gasket, so I want to double check that it doesn't leak.

As far as the kickstand goes I need to bend it or something. Possibly find a aftermark one that bolts on that has more angle and length. The bike will stand on its own for now at least, but its not stable really.

All in all it's been fun so far, most things have gone together fairly well. I had a fabrication shop here in town weld the hard tail on, as I do not have the capabilities to weld.

Fishhead... that is one of the sweetest Bobbers I have seen. Is there a project thread on here from your build?

Heres a few pictures of it through the build. I didn't document it too much, so I dont have many pics. The bike was built for resale and was sold shortly after it was finished.

It was originally going to have a hard mounted chopper seat, but the seating position was too low with a frame mounted seat so I dreamed up the seat arrangement.
The bike actually rode real nice with the funky seat set up.The suspension on the seat really tamed down the hardtail. The HD tank originally had a fuel gauge in it, but it was removed and the Honda ignition switch was put in its place (the tank was a 100th anniversary tank and the HD people were up set that I was using it on a "Honda", go figure). The bike had an aftermarket 2-2 exhaust when I got it and I had a set of HD big twin pipes that I modified to fit around the frame and the Factory HD chrome pipe covers fit on it like it was made for it. Most of the rest of the bike was still 1968 CL 450.

Alan. Thanks. Yes it's a 1999 Honda 750 Nighthawk tank. Picked it up for $10 off E-bay! Brand new but had a dent in it.

so here is the latest pics of the build. quick description...hardtailed, swingarm lengthened 6", not finished...need to have more gussetts welded in and the fender struts made-up and attached...trying to figure out how im gonna do it so that the signals and id plate are incorporated into it.

i dig the seat shock you got there, fish.

i should be picking up an 82 cb650sc and i'll be low- budget bobbing that if i get the charging system worked out...

something like martino's, but i'll be keeping the 4-4 exhaust, and i don't have a welder, so anything i can cut and bolt together like a giant erector set will have to do until i can pick up a mig and a grinder...
