Newbie from NorCal
« on: January 23, 2009, 05:35:11 PM »
Hi.....I just picked up a 77 CB750F.   I picked the bike up for $450 with 9,900 miles on the clock.  I'm planning to generally restore the bike and possibly give it a little cafe treatment.  This past week I stripped the bike down to the frame to prep it for paint and assess the condition of everything.  I am looking forward to building this project(my first bike) and thanks ahead for all the valuable information from members of this board.

Thought I'd add some pics of the bike prior to me stripping it down.

Not going to be doing any night riding soon with that light, I hope ;D ;D ;D

But hey, $450 for a 750 is a way better deal than what I got my 550 for in nearly the same shape :P

Welcome from SoCal and keep the pics coming!

Best of luck

True.  That's the way Honda sold them, anyway.

Casey,
Yes indeed, the 77 F-2 Super Sport CAME with dual discs, it's actually why I bought my first one of them. From your pics I can only see the speedo cable on your right side. Is yours missing the entire rotor / caliper / hanger / and brake line? Any chance of going back to the owner and inquiring as to the whereabouts?
After having hot rods with minimal brakes, and average vehicles with killer brakes, I'd give up the horse power in trade any day.
But hey, you've got a great project going. Good luck.
