CB750 K0 Rear Wheel Offset
« on: January 24, 2009, 02:27:18 PM »
This might be opening a old can of worms but I searched the old threads and didn't find a good answer.  Is the rim on a CB750 K0 supposed to be offset to the hub?  I measured mine and from the rim to the spoke flanges on the hub it is offset 3-4mm (1/8"-3/16") towards the sprocket side of the hub.  This has caused the spokes to dig into the flange on the opposite side.  This wheel has never been apart.  I saw discussions about the whole wheel being offset by about that amount between the swingarm.  Is this the same thing?  It sounded more like that would be accomplished with the spacers on the axle.  It doesn't seem right to me that the hub should be offset to the rim.  Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Mark

I measured my front wheel too and it was right on center.  Did a front wheel offset search and didn't find a good answer either.  Is there a specific post you're referring to?

Working purely from memory with no objective backup...
The front rim and hub have no offset. I've laced and trued many front wheels. But...
one disk is closer to the centerline than the other, if you have duals, hence the quirkiness. But there is nothing to be done about it.
