front turn signals mounted on the frame?
« on: January 17, 2009, 01:29:23 PM »
Has anyone mount their front turn signals on the frame, say around the horn area?

I put on clubman handlebars on my CB550, and the stock turn signals won't fit. I really like them, and want to keep them. I'm considering welding tabs on to the frame, and mounting the turning signals there.

If anyone can toss up any pictures of this setup would be great. Thanks.

Pretty drastic. Could you mount them to the lower triple pinch bolts?

That's not a bad idea. Do you have any examples? I image I would have to make brackets of some sort. Thanks.

I dunno if it's legal in the states, but there's this japanese shop www.animalboat.com that makes some pretty cool bobbers and such, many of them have frame mounted front signals, here's a 400 four that I downloaded from their site...

I've got a K8 headlight bracket where the blinkers mount much lower. Might work well for your set up.

I like that. I would think there is nothing illegal about mount them there. We have full fairing bikes on the street with lights at approx same locations.

If I had to bike new parts, I might as will by the F series ears. Welding stuff and tidbits, I already have.

I got shorty stalks for my 750, that just barely fit the stock signals with clubmans...

Hey guys, thanks for sharing your pictures. Your bikes look great.

I mocked up how it may fit with a shorter stock, but there is just no way I could keep the stock size lights. The angle that the clubman sits just won't allow for it.

Using different turning signals, in my opinion, wouldn't look right. The rear turning lights are stock. I like the stock lights.
