Guys,
Speaking of front ends... can anyone tell me what i have here?
I picked up a parts bike - ex. post-classic racer
The frame is k1 and i think the front end may be F2 (?)
Fork brace, alloy rim etc.
I want to put it on my otherwise stock K1
how about a pic becasue your description doesn't leave much to the imagination.
An f2 would have a comstar so if it has spokes that is out. an F1 or F0 (1975-76) are single disc spoked rim, and pretty close to a stock K bike setup except for being a little taller and not having a front strut on the fender.
The only spoked aluminum rim would be either a cb750A hondamatic or a 1975-77 GL1000 goldwing. The gold wing is easy to spot, the top clamp risers are higher than stock cb750, the forks are 37mm (vs the cb750's 35mm) and the wheel would have dual disc. Also the lower fork legs have three rings cast into them as a styling cue. A cb750A front end would look just like a stock cb750 front except for the aluminum rim. Stock aluminum rims are DID. Plenty of racers lace alloy rims to stock cb750 hubs, so it could be that also.
As for the fork brace, if it isn't part of the fender then it is aftermarket, as all cb750's had their fork brace as part of the front fender.
sounds liek you either have someone's hopped up roadrace front end or a modified chopper front end.
