oversized sleeves
« on: February 01, 2009, 06:12:25 PM »
i'm thinking about going bigger than an 836 for the big motor for my chopper build later this year and i'm wondering, are the sleeves dynoman sells for the sohc oversized to work with a larger bore by boring the bolck out more? or do i buy the dohc sleeves? i'm slowly getting parts together for this motor, i have the head all cleaned up, bead blasted and ready for guide replacement/porting. i have the modified stock rods that cycle x used to do shot peened, polished with the big arp bolts. i traded my titled cb500t frame this afternoon for a set of 29mm mikunis.

I'd bet that LA Sleeves is the major supplier. Drop the original sleeves out, bore the block, press fit the new larger sleeves, bore the new sleeves. If you're going this route why not just let Big Jay do the whole thing for you?
