Check MCRiders project thread.  It is not on the road yet but he has built front and rear 17's.  They look really sweet too.
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

I've been tossing around the idea of 17's front and rear.  Kinda like a 750 motard :D

i think that bike looks weird, the top half looks completely stock and the bottom half is modern motard style, i dont really like it, sweet exhaust though!!

Yes it definitely has a "look".  Mine will be lower, stock length shocks on the back vs the longer ones, and I hope to drop the front a tad. May take away that praying mantis look.

But it depends on how it handles. I expect it to be perkier, yet stable.

here's the '78 750F that I built for my son-in-law.  Early 90's Kawasaki ZX6 wheels and forks.  Cal-Fab swingarm.

So all you need is a 17 hoop with the correct spoke pattern?

With all that extra rubber you might as well throw in a 320mm up front

I've got pics of the Japanese bike when they were building it, tank was in the white and the wheels were gold.  They should have left the wheels gold, looked waaaay better.  Scotch-brited tank was #$%*in too ;)

[edit] I just noticed they didn't put the trim strips on the bottom of the tank, makes it look kinda naked with the red.

that does look better, but for some reason  the stock seat and upright bars and mirrors look out of place to me, i want to see something sportier imo

does anyone recognize the swingarm/forks and wheels they used on that bike?  The wheels have Honda cast on them.

I think they're CBR600 F3 wheels. F2 wheels had 3 spokes and shared fork and brake components with 90's 750 nighthawks, st1100's and nt650's.  they use the same tapered roller kits as sohc 750's but the stem is an inch longer.  I'm fabbing a spacer to go on the stem below the lower bearing that doubles as my steering stop.  When I've got some results and pics to show I'll be telling my story in the Project Shop.
