Primary and Secondary jets?
« on: February 24, 2009, 12:18:41 PM »
Ok, So as I was about to order some 115 mains for my CB550 (free-flow race exhaust and k&n pod filters) I noticed in the K&L Supply catalog that there are Primary and Secondary mains listed for the CB550's. What size Primary should I go with? I have been told to start with a 115 secondary main to get things close to correct before it goes on a dyno for a full tune. Any help would be appreciated; I am in a hurry to finish this bike and actually sold my CB360 to help the project move faster!

Is no one else rejetting their bikes after exhaust/filter mods? 115's seem right, but secondary mains are confusing me because I've got a pilot and a main...is there another jet somewhere else that I'm just missing?

Never heard of a secondary main.

Mains, pilots, slow running, air-screw but no secondaries...?

Well it may be that they are referring to the idle jets as secondaries. List the sizes and we can see what they are talking about.
