Topic: Will a stator from another model fit my '75 CB550?

Hi all

Once again I am tinkering with my '75 CB550, after she left me stranded with what seemed to be a dead battery.  No, I haven't checked the volts with an ohm meter, I just know something is draining my battery & that I have traced all the wiring for shorts.  Can't find shorts.  I replace the battery almost every year, sometimes every other year...  Now I am guessing that it may be the stator.  Will a stator for a 350 work?  Any suggestions?

NEVER seen a stator go bad electrically---only physically when the bike dropped. Charging faults In EVERY sohc i have worked on in 30+(dont ask) years has been either bad connections/grounds or the occasional regulator box

Forgot to say ALL 500/550 are same but nothing else is

Its the size of the + i dont want to give away plus years of abusive use of a noxious substance known as Guiness makes memories truth dubious. (Plus the odd bottle of Southern Comfort!)
