Lease..
« on: January 31, 2009, 11:23:54 AM »
This coming tuesday I turn my leased jeep in and im curious if you guys have any advise. Is there any scams they might try to pull on my or things to bill me for they shouldnt, that kinda of stuff. Mainly what should I be watching for or what can I do to save my check book.

BTW I will not be buying a new car so I would be getting any great deals in that area. I will never lease again that is for sure.

Thanks for any advice you can give!

clean that puppy well, buff out and light scratches you can see.

If you go to a good sized car wash doing the interior of the engine compartment can help as well as the undercarriage.

But that all depends on how much thrashing you gave the poor ole girl.
 ;D ;D ;D

With me, being a lease vehicle, it would need a REALLY good cleaning, and possibly some touchup paint.

check your lights, turn, brake, reverse. you buying a 0.99 set of bulbs and taking the time to change them is worth it.

yeah, i agree with what Soos said. Check for any little chips/peels in the paint. Get a small bottle of touchup at a parts store and do it yourself. Clean the interior and vacuum between the seats. They will try to charge you for a full price/pro detailing over something like that. Take off anything you put on after buying. I left my nice hood shield on my Blazer and wish I hadn't.

I agree with you on leasing. My bro and sis in law talked me into one back in '98 on a 4 door Chevy S-10 Blazer and it sucked.  couldn't wait to give the thing back. (I still miss my '89 2 door Blazer I traded in.  :'( ) II bought another (used) car a few months before the lease was up and put the miles on that to save myself the overage cost. Well worth thinking ahead on that one. I brought it back with 12 miles under the point where they get you for overage.  ;D

Good luck.
