No more Honda Hoot!

The 2009 "Honda Hoot" has been cancelled for this year, and looks like 2008 may have been the last.
That figures, since this year would have been the first time that I could have actually "swung" it and attended this event.

It sucks, I know, but this is was a corporation who keeps its head up does.  At least they have the foresight to see that the economy is taking a downturn and that frivolous spending in a time of crisis is a bad idea.

If only some American companies would pull their heads out of their asses and realize that things are going to be bad, maybe some jobs could be saved...

Never got to the Hoot, but enjoyed the Honda Homecoming in OH a few years back.  The highlight was the tour of the Marysville Honda plant where they made the Goldwing.  Now I hear they no longer make them there.  Not sure if they shut the plant down or not.  I would have liked to watch the CB750 in production back in the day.

I think you are right about the car production there.  I thought I heard that but was not sure.

Cycle production has been halted in Ohio, and so has the Honda Homecoming event  :'(

They've closed the UK (Civic) plant for 4 months (!), canceled the Suzuka 8hr race and pulled out of F1.

All sensible I guess if they believe the recession will be long and hard. Better than laying off workers.
