the last wire brown - what is this?... 75 CB550
« on: May 18, 2014, 08:01:03 AM »
Yesterday completed the reinstallation of the wire harness on this bike.   Including new tail light and turn signals.   Did not install head light yet as I want access to the wiring until I can test the rest of the electrical system after i get the carbs and airbox on.   I did test the brake lights, and turn signals, horn etc.  all worked great.

i have one last wire inside the headlamp.  It is a solid brown wire with female connector.   When I disassembled, I labeled every single male and female connection and also marked them down in my project note book as to what they connected to for function or component.   This last wire is un-labeled and not in my note book.  I thought I must have missed it but I have the color wiring diagram and cannot find it there either.

It comes out of the main harness bundle into the light can.   Anyone know what this is supposed to connect to?   I cant find a mating brown wire with male connector in the rats nest of wires inside the can.

Mine is also blank. The shop manual also doesn't have anything connecting to it.

There is no mate, it is for euro bikes only. Just leave it

A simple 30 second search ( extra brown wire in headlight bucket) and you would have found this it has been asked hundreds of times.

'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.
