Longshot: Lower pulley for ARD Magneto
« on: February 02, 2009, 10:05:31 AM »
The lower pulley for the belt drive on my mag is chewed up.  Does anyone know where I could find a replacement or does anyone have this piece laying around?

It's for a 3/8" belt, 15 teeth with a 7/16" bore, stepped to 3/8" at the set screws to position the pulley correctly.

I looked at Mcmaster, but they dont have anything with a 7/16" bore

Thanks for the help!

I just found some markings on the top pulley which also needs to be replaced.  The top one is a brownings pulley 30xlm037x.570 and the bottom doesnt say brownings but it says 15xl.

Check with Applied Industrial in Frederick, MD.  They stock bearings and pulleys and stuff.  Only place around here I can think of.  Maybe McMaster Carr as well.

Does anybody else have one of these ARD units?
If so, do you have the set up instructions or any literature?
I have one of these but have never personally used it...
Yes the old parts dig out is gaining momentum.

I have a few companies Im going to call to see if they carry these pulleys or something similar.

Nitro,  I have some lit on setting these things up.  go to www.magnetoparts.com they have some information about the magnetos and a bunch of replacement parts minus the adapter stuff to run on a 750.  The lit I "have" is from a friend who is compiling it all and putting it up on a website.  Ill try and remember to tell ya when it's done.

Most of that stuff was standard bearing shop items.

If you use the same one that I have and it looks like you do, I went to bearings and drives and they matched up the original one. (for the number of teeth and the width)
I machined these my self and have about 10 extra if you want one.
