Hello, lads - I'm getting into my transformation - got a new seat ordered and am planning to try out drag AND club bars on the old girl...

I'd like to remove the oil-pressure gauge but I'm having trouble finding the bolt that goes back in where the gauge is screwed in now...have the parts list, but can't find the right page

Is it just a regular bolt?

What goes in there is a diecast plug that had the threads machined on it. It's not a "bolt". Maybe you just need a short pipe plug to plug-up the hole. It's probably 1/8" NPT

if its pipe thread and it probably is i would bet bob wessners carb manual its a metric thread.if you are in the states a good import hot rod shop or maybe napa can find you a plug for the hole.

...check u'r local hardware store first...Ace Hardware is probably got one that will fit. Take the gague with you can tell what size it is and give you a plug to fit it...

You could try this place http://mdmetric.com/ They seem to have a lot of metric fittings, tools etc. They're located in Maryland. I haven't dealt with them just came across the site one day looking for who knows what.

I can send you the stock plug and some $$ for your oil gauge if you don't want it. PM me if you like. If you want to keep the gauge I could still send you the plug. I'm in Oakland,CA

Damn! I was too slow, I would have liked that gauge too Sean, ha ha! oh well, the "plug" is metric, 20 x 1.5mm, don't go trying to screw anything into it like a pipe thread plug, you'll only bugger it up.

Get the right Honda gallery plug (Sean will have a spare or two) although I don't know WHY you want to get rid of it, an oil pressure gauge is designed to give you early warning of oil pressure loss and oil pump failure, but if you're content to rely on a 10 cent light bulb to protect your lubrication system, then take it off, at your peril! You can get pipe plugs at the local Hardware store and even some auto parts store. And BTW, pipe plugs really don't have a "metric" version, and are pretty much universal.

bspt stands for british standard pipe thread
used on steel and cast iron water and steam pipes with threaded conectors for the extra pressure they will take against normal soldered joints

turns out - plug IS 1/8" - NOT metric.
got one at home depot (thanks and regards to s.condon for his kind offer)

still keeping the oil pressure gauge...checked the face - made in skokie (needs cleaned up)

I've been riding the 350 for a week (what fun!) and last night spent about 3.5 hrs. tearing down the big boy (750) - removing the ridiculous seat, bars etc.etc...jeezus - this thing looks f-ing tough already!!!

That 1/8" NPT plug aint what we were talking about, the OEM Honda plug that screws into the crankcases is 20/1.5mm. What you've done is plugged off the oil pressure gauge adapter. That'll work fine, just probably looks a little goofy. Cheers, Terry.
