Weight Of A CB77 Lower End?
« on: February 04, 2009, 07:42:12 PM »

Back in 2007, Kevin (Hahnda) weighed a complete 305 engine and said that it weighed in at 115lbs. So, with that in mind, what do you suppose the complete lower end weighs. Seller says 100lbs and I wasn't believing that it was that much. Those of you who have dealt with those engines, what say you? I need some info on this ASAP. Got a "Seller" in the wing, who is looking to make a deal.

Things go right, I may be able to build the Jawa like the one my Dad did AND build the old 63' Super Hawk like I would like to have built the CB72 Hawk that I had back in the late 60's.

                                 Thank you, Bill ;)

I seem to remember reading its 85lbs.
If its being shipped he may be including the crate weight?

Hey PJ, just got through reading a PM from Kevin (Hahnda) while ago and we had decided that between the 115lbs of the complete engine and the (approx wgt) 25-30lbs of the top end, it was looking like the lower end would be about 85-90lbs. So, as you say, the 100lbs could be for the engine in the box (that he will build for it, as he has said that his box will weigh about 10lbs). So, your info pretty much answers that. 8) Thanks for the input.

                                 Take care, Bill ;)
