where can you get these in OZ

I'm putting together the finishing touches of my front end and thought i may as well drill the disc while i have it off.All the threads i have read here  recommend a Cobalt drill bit for the the job, but buggered if i can find anybody in Adelaide that sells them,Is it just a Yankee term or are they available here to?

G`day mate
They are available here in adelaide, though theres not a huge market so its almost a specialist item....
Try blackwoods and i believe even bunnings could have then as they stock a good range of sutton drill bits and suttons do a cobalt bit.

Pop into your Bunnings Warehouse and they should stock cobalt drill bits by Irwin or Patience and Nicholson. Patience and Nicholson supply to us the Evacut range of bits. I work at a Bunnings Store and NZ and buy them in to stock on our shelves. They look very similar to titanium drill bits in colour, goldish colour.

They sell them at the Bunnings store near me Wayne, you want me to pick a couple up for you? Last lot I bought (3/8", that's close to 10mm, Bunnings don't sell metric cobalt drills) cost about 17 bucks each. 

I say you'll need a couple because you'll bugger them pretty quickly drilling a 750 disc, and I hope you know how to re-sharpen them........... Have you got a drill press that'll drill real slow? Also, the best lubricant (believe it or not) is straight dishwashing liquid!

Don't try to use a hand (electric) drill, you'll only bugger it. ;D

Thanks for the offer terry, i will have a bit more of a look around and if i have no luck i will give you a yell.Yeh mate i have a floor stand drill press that will do the job ;D,i read about dishwashing liquid in one of your earlier posts and was going to give it a go.

Aussie, I just drilled mine and only used a standard "Sutton" high speed 6mm drill bit, ran it at about 400rpm and used kero as the lubricant. One drill bit drilled all 112 holes. You need to keep applying firm pressure as you drill otherwise the stainless will work harden.
