Help with id of tail light for cafe
« on: February 05, 2009, 05:42:16 PM »
I saw this tail light on a bike for sale on ebay. I think it would be perfect for my project.
The owner didn't know where it came from.

Any body recognize it.

Looks like a cateye tail light.  The Lucas has a similar base
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

Check the chopper catalogs like Drag Specialties. I've seen them there with a range of taillights in the same housing.  They're inexpensive.  RR

Thanks that is very close to it.

I have searched all over the j and p site as well as drag specialties but that is the closest to what I am looking for.

Looks like the shrunken version of the cateye....nice looking light..

I always found the original Lucas light that fit that type of holder, never held up well.. cant imagine them going more than a few weeks on a brit bike!

I used to run that type holder with a lucas type light, but it had a Cats face (panther) on it!!.. they were cool..
