Need new grips
« on: April 20, 2009, 06:27:13 PM »
Can anyone suggest a good set of grips for the handlebars?  It's a CB750K5 wth after market grips that are small and uncomfortable. I don't think that anything like what I have on my goldwing will fit but need something a little bigger around.

Thank you

JK

I really like these from Randakk's.  Not sure if they're fatter, but I'll go measure them if you're interested.

I went with a pair of Rizoma grips. I like the clean tech look and the satin aluminum (natural) goes great with the theme of my bike.

Progrip model 699 Superbike grips are my new favorite, little bigger diameter then most modern standard grips, good vibration damping, sticky, and lots of colors.
My old favorite Oury's run a close second for comfort, grip and feel.

aren't the gran turismos most stock "looking" out of the bunch we've seen so far?

i've got a set of bent bars that have similar grips... they hang on the garage wall just so i can feel how comfy the left grip is.   ;D

Try Ebay if you're into the completist thing. I ended up getting a NOS set on Ebay for around $25. Pretty sure the same grips were used on most Hondas from the 70s-80s.

Those Gran Turismo's look very very British, I remember riding a mates Triumph Trident while he rode my Suzi T350 in the 70's and one of the things that impressed me was those soft grips......forgetting I was on a British bike caused some confusion when we both downchanged instead of braking and had to barrel through a red light ha ha.

My k4 resto bike came with the grips like the gran turismos. My other k4 had the other stock grips. I prefer the gran turismos for comfort and natural feel.

My KO came with the Grans and they are so comfortable.  My K1 has the OEM grips and they are so thin and hard.  I may get some for the K1, but will give the OEM's a try since I can compare both bikes now.

Not sure. Never thought to take a measurement. They're pretty standard for the width (fits the throttle tube just fine) and, uh, puffy in the center. Like this

Yah, I agree they look like a pretty standard fit.  Did not know they still made them.  Very comfortable especially if you have a hard throttle.
