      Looks like the shipping of this one is going to cost me about $62.78 (6 day shipping through Fedex) It's sitting in Walnut, California presently. Funny, the Jawa 250 Engine is coming from Florida and the Honda 305 lower end is going to come from the other side of the U.S. These 2 engines will help me to bring back 2 of the most memorable motorcycles (or at least likenesses of them) in my early life. That Jawa will be like the one that my Dad built quite awhile back AND the 305 Lower End will help me to put an old Super Hawk back on the road and I hope to build it similar to the  Hawk I had years ago and also be the Super Hawk that I wanted back then.

Good luck with the CB77 project.  I put my fathers 1966 Superhawk back together a couple of years ago.  I did it in his memory.  He bought it used in 1970.  He drove it to work every decent day until his retirement in 1975.  I have fond memories of the Superhawks.  In the summer of 1966, I learned to ride on a 1964 Superhawk that belonged to a friend of mine.

       Well thank you for that. Pretty cool that you have his Super Hawk. I wish I had (at least ) one of my Dad's old motorcycles. I don't, but I'm hoping to build the 250 Jawa that I'm doing the other thread on, to be like the one that he had. To my knowledge, my Dad never road a Honda. I'm the one with the Honda experience in our family. In 68', I bought a 66' CB72 250 Hawk (looks just like it's big brother) and I had a blast on that one. This lower end will be good for a few parts for the 63' Super Hawk AND, I might be close enough on parts to do something with the 67' CL77 "Roller" that I also have.

         Thanks for passing on the info about you Dad and his Super Hawk.

Geeze Bill, with all the crap you have had to put up with lately, where do you find the time to do anything else. PS glad to read that all went well with your Dad, i had a similar experience with mine, really leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

         Thanks for that, Mick.    Things have settled somewhat. Now, we're working on getting my Dad's things back, getting them out of the place that my Dad is paying for (well, actually, the Lawyer is doing those 2 things) and keeping my Dad pacified while trying to get him in better shape. He IS doing somewhat better too. He is getting to where he can go farther and a longer distance using a walker (the kind that has 4 wheels), instead of a wheelchair and that's cool.

          Man, I really do feel for anyone who has (or will have to) go through ANYTHING like that! It DEFINITELY leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

          Sure hope those fires over there, aren't messing with you or anyone of our members or families there. I heard today that there are at least 400 fires! That is terrible. You all be careful.

$62.78?  $62.78?!!!!!!!!  Bill, that is a LOT more than the gas would cost you to drive to my house.  Last year I told you I had an engine for you.  It is still here.  My mapping program says you can get here in 2 hours and 33 minutes.  That is139 miles.  At 15 miles per gallon you would use under 19 gallons of gasoline.  At $1.65 per gallon it would cost you under $32.00 to get this junk out of my way.

      Well, I politely bowed out on that CB77 lower end deal and told the seller why and he understood , not blaming me for that. Sure was glad, if he HAD had a problem with it, I'd have gone ahead with the deal because "I said I would". So, with that in mind, my Dad and I made our way out to "okie's" today and picked up those parts and hauled them back to my home. My Wife was Estatic (well, maybe that isn't quite the right word to use) Man, I am in "hog heaven". Had a Great visit with Larry, checked out his bikes (thought about offering to help him clean out his garage and decided I'd better not because he might run me off! Really cool to meet one of the SOHC4 folks face to face and all. He's got a really sharp garage and just one heck of a nice guy!

No, Bill, I don't know about your wife, but MY wife says  ecstatic is the right word.  I got lots of "brownie points" for getting rid of all of that stuff.

In case anybody wondered, Bill and his dad are real people.  Real nice people.  I'm glad we finally got to meet.
