Hi all from Peferlaw Ontario Canada
« on: February 08, 2009, 10:04:03 AM »
Great to see there is a very active forum for the old Honda's. I have several old cycles all from the 60's and early 70's but this is my first Honda. I grew up in that era and loads of my buddies changed to Honda when the 750 fours came out in 69/70. I stayed with my Nortons and Triumphs but I always liked the looks and the ride of the old Honda's. I just picked up a 71 750 four in none running condition but I hope to have it on the road this year. Is there any rallies or get togethers in the southern Ontario region? Once again a great forum well set up and Im sure will be very helpful to me.

Welcome Terry.

There have been small get togethers at bike shows, races etc. but we'll have to try to organize something larger sometime soon.

Greetings from just south of Sunderland!!!  We won't hold it against you that you like Nortons and Triumphs, or even that you come from Peferlaw. :D ;D

Thats very nice of you Mr Nut and thanks to the rest for the welcome. Hopefully one day there will be some sort of rally for these fours. Does anyone know what the Vintage Japanese club in this area is good to join or are they stuffy like the regular Vintage club?

Terry,

Hope my comments didn't offend you.  I've always owned Hondas but I also admire fine British bikes.  We are very close to where you live and maybe sometime could get together to see each others "toys".  (I also am familiar with Peferlaw, and think it's a lovely place.)

I really am not aware of any Vintage Japanese clubs in this area.  I don't think there are any.  The only vintage sort of club active in these parts is the CVMG, but maybe that's the "regular Vintage club" to which you were referring.  I have seen a number of like-minded SOHC-4 750 riders who rode in together at local cruise nights, but I don't think they actually were part of any club.  There is the Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club (VJMC) and they have a very nice newsletter, but no active chapter in this area that I'm aware of.  However, there seems to be a lot of nice folks on this forum who are even in this area...so maybe we should get something going when the riding season comes 'round again.

That's a sweet collection you have there Terry. A 67 Triumph and Norton Commando are on my shortlist. Welcome from Timmins. John.

Thanks again to all even the nutty guy! No offense taken at all Im always up for a little crack ( english for banter ). Up until two years ago I rode an awful lot on the New Trumpet but last year I really only used it for going to work and one trip to the Norton rally. About four years ago I put one of the vintage bikes on the road and enjoyed it imensely so this year I plan on riding a vintage bike again ( Honda 750 ) and really would like to see a Honda rally take place. Once I get my feet wet on this forum I will throw a few ideas out and see what response we have. I know a couple of other Honda nuts both with early 70 750's so Im sure I can con them into partaking as well. And as far as getting together with a nutbar! Im in, as soon as cycle weather comes around. In the meantime lets talk up some sort of summer get together.
Thanks again to all.

Welcome from Barrie Mr. Boner, from the other side of the lake  ;)

We seem to be getting more and more from Ontario these days, I'm sure a rally can't be too far off.
