Just a heads-up....if you're gonna have the axle plated, be sure you tell them not to plate the center section that has to slide through the bearings, or it may not fit when you get it back.
If you don't mind me asking, how much to get the swingarm chromed?
Thanks for the tip, I was aware. Supposedly, Brown's should be too. They claim to be up to speed on masking and plugging without our concern. But it never hurts to say it. Motorcycles are all they do.
They publish a catalogue with prices
http://www.brownsplating.com/chrome_direct.php Its page 14 for the CB750. They have virtually everypart that can be removed from the frame (no frames) priced out. Its $239 for the swingarm. Gulp. I had thought about powdercoating the same as the frame, for 1/4 the cost. But I know from running it chromed for the past 20 years that it is a real eyecatcher. The whole rear is chrome or polished, wheel, fender, brake rods and stay, shocks and springs, passenger pegs. My project's goal includes high eye appeal, so I'm going to pop for it.
The chrome on it now has degraded from battery acid and misc pitting and boo-boos.
