Thank you PIKE!
a mountain like no other.

growing up in kansas w/ family in colorado... Pike was the first thing you'd see when traveling in from the east.

dad and i rode his '84 R100rt out to our family in Pueblo one year.  i was 12?  so that's 20 years ago.   :P
we rode to the top, it was magically SCARY on that old dirt road.

one of those memories to last a lifetime, i envisioned all the racers i saw on tv... thanks E

Fabulous....but I'm quite surprised that in 'safety-crat' USA the spectators were allowed to be that close to the action.

Yeah but the last Race to the Clouds I saw 2-3 years ago on the tube showed much the same thing.

Part of the course has been paved. :(

Really nice site to behold. First thing I do when I get out of bed each morning is look out the window at the mountain. Thaks or no thanks to the Sierra Club it is being paved little by little until there will be no dirt or gravel to wash off into the streams.

Come on out to Colorado Springs and let's go up and watch the race live!

Oh, Heffay!  Turns out we can't make it to your wedding after all.  Something has come up on that same day that requires our attendance. :P ;D ;D

Give our love to the new missus! :-*

Oh geez Heff. Eliz needs to get her priorities straight from the beginning  ::)

Or you can do what we did. Get married on the mountain. We did it on the top of Mt Evans. It just so happens you'd have a race in your honor.

Nice! Big Auto Union- Audi fan right here.

Enjoy the hill climb races too. I think the Europeans are on to something.
