SoCal Newbie needs help
« on: February 08, 2009, 01:39:12 AM »
Hey guys!
I finally got my scoot.  I don't have much coin so I had to get one on the cheap.  I found a 1978 CB750 for $200 on CL. It has a few problems like no battery, blown f/r shocks, broken throttle cable, been parked for 8 years (you know the normal stuff), but its a HONDAMATIC.
My ultimate goal is a clean Cafe Racer.  I know this is a big project, but can anyone tell me how hard its going to be.  Can I put in a 750 motor with a regular trans, new clutch lever, and make it work?  Is that the least of my worries?  I am in need of some serious help guys.  If you have any leads on cheap parts or good advice, it will all be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.  I will try to post pics tomorrow.

Post this in SOHC4 Bikes - you'll probably get a better response.

Would you like me to move it?
