Here's a few pics of some powder coating I've done for my project. I PORed the frame and oil tank today but for some reason the POR didn't flow out very nicely, some sanding & buffing is required before I get out the camera. I'm also getting a batch of engine pieces ready for the oven.    Jay 8)

I got the frame painted, now it sits between the powder coated rims waiting for me to finish the engine and install it.

JBird,

What color is that -- it looks like a grey, blue-green, but I can't tell for sure?  Either I'm color blind or my color balance is off on my monitor.

More importantly, what does the t-shirt print say on you avatar!?

It's a cheap silver hammertone. I've decided to squirt a coat of catalized satin clear over it just because. And, I'm certainly glad those aren't brains. Jay 8)

If You can't fix it with a hammer, You've got an electrical problem.

Powder coated some more stuff this Saturday. It took me hours to remove the pitted, grungy thirty year old chrome from the engine covers. I'd bead blast an area till the chrome started wrinkling then I could get a knife blade under it and peel the chrome off in sheets. It's a pretty dangerous procedure, the chrome sheets are sharper than a razor. The nooks, crannies and fins took a long long time. The satin blue trinkets I coated months ago after just a quick bead blast but they are all either chrome plated STEEL or unplated alooneyum. My cameraflash doesn't like my BBQ blackened engine, it looks much better in real life. I'll try another engine pic when the gaskets show up and I can bolt the covers on for real.   Jay 8)
