Cable length help

My brother is building a CB bobber with 18" ape hangers! Anyone know what length cables he needs to get? Or how to measure for these? I was thingking maybe just running string untill it looks about right with some slack, then ordering that length.? Any help.....

Rubber tubing might give you a more accurate routing, but yea, your idea of running something, measuring and giving it some slack is what I would do.
