Got a buddy in Naples lookin for an F
« on: January 26, 2009, 08:36:54 PM »
I got a buddy in Naples FL that used to ride crotch rockets on and off the track.  He got out of that but misses riding and wants to get into the vintage thing.  He is really keeping his eye open for a 750F, so I thought I would just check on here if anybody knew of anything...

1981 DOHC CB750F Super Sport in black, 4200 original miles.  Looks and rides NEW.  If you didn't ride one in 81 when they were new this is your chance.  I will have it on eBay in April but plan on it bringing around 4K.  All original except 150 mph clocks and mirrors,  new Dunlop tires, new Yuasa battery.  It has been my show bike for 2 years. PM offline.

I'm gonna kick myself if I sell her, but....... :-\   I have a red '76 750F, mostly original (paint, seat frame etc.) but needs some Cleaning and a tuneup.  Has a Kerker 4:1 new rear tire that presently has a nail or screw in it, and needs to have the fork seals replaced.  O-ring chain in good shape, halogen headlight, and chrome valve cover and clutch housing.  Bike has been garaged all it's life, I'm the 2nd owner.  About 37K miles now.
I'm looking to get $2100 for it

I have a 78 F model that is in pretty good shape.  I just rebuilt the carbs, got new carb boots from Honda yesterday, but do not have them or the carbs back on the bike yet.  Bike runs but cam chain is noisy.  Chrome is better tha average, seat look almost new, paint not original but look fair with a few scratches, etc.  Rear tire about gone.  New gel battery. Brake calipers all taken apart and cleaned out. New plugs, new oil change & filter, Dyna S ignition. I'll take $1000 for it.  I am 30 miles northeast of Dallas.

No problems that winning the lottery wouldn't fix

So he just found a 79 GS750 dual cam, does anyone know how hard parts are to find for one of these?

What part of HONDA, SINGLE Overhead Cam ain't you gettin?  Friends don't let friends ride Suzuki's ( if a GS750 is an obscure or desireable Honda, I like my crow with ketchup)

Yeah, I know... its not a honda, but its not my bike either (my bikes currently down to the juggs)  He really wants to get something and have it running within the next month because I'm going down to ride with him for a week...  Again, if any one knows of a Honda in the area it's still preferable.  He's going tomorrow to look at a different GS, there were two in his area.  In Honda's defense he went and looked at the first one today and he said it was a pos.

I know new stuff is completely different but he's kind of a suzuki guy anyway.  He used to ride a GSXR-1000 on a superbike circuit down south.  He went down going about 130 in a turn and sold the bike and now a year later misses it and wants to get into vintage.

Well, he got one... its no honda but it's identical to his buddies GS750 and all chrome is in perfect shape as well as it's only got 20000 miles.  I'll be down there in a month and were going riding (I'm borrowing someone's non-vintage Ducati) so we'll have to see how she runs...
