Super sport and K model sidecovers
« on: February 08, 2009, 05:31:49 PM »
Call it blasphemy but a earlier super sport turned up around these parts and it would be nice to start the next project using the SS frame. (Better handling, disk rear brake blah blah) but If I go this route I really would like to disguise it as an earlier K model. I am going to make the seat so that and the tank are taken care of but the side covers...

Does anyone have a K side cover and a ss bike/frame they could do I quick mock up? I can shave down the side cover and relocate grommets and all that fun stuff but I would like to get an idea of it before I commit to doing it. It may work fine or it just maybe so far from working that its not worth it.

Just what kinda trouble are you trying to stir up here Shenanigans? You've dissed both the F and the K crowd in one short post. You want all of the pluses that you get from an F...except you don't want to acknowledge the F...dissed! And you've dissed the K crowd by wanting to pass off an F as a K. You are swimming in deep waters brother.  ;D ;D ;D

Seriously though, I don't think the side covers will work without some work due to frame/mounting differences. But, as we all know here...were there's a will there's a way.

Good luck, Mike

You'll have different answers depending on which year/model SS frame you're talking about. By "earlier year SS" you're talking about 75-76,right?
Give me..a frame to build a bike on, and my imagination will build upon that frame

I know I know  ;D ;D I just want to have it all.

I know I will have to modify a lot and that's fine. I can shave down side covers and make mounts. But it might just not sit right and not work visually.

Correct 75-76. This is a 75 if it matters.
