'78 CB750 exhaust pipes on a '75
« on: February 09, 2009, 04:32:52 PM »
Will a set of '78 exhaust pipes and mufflers fit on a '75? I know I'll need to make some brackets for the mufflers but will the '78 header pipes work with the '75 head and mounting hardware?

oh my!  I think you're making a big mistake.  You see, I need those pipes.  :)

If they're in good shape, 77/78 pipes are worth enough dough to get you a new 4-1 or possibly a cyclexchange.net 4-2-1.  Don't chop 'em up if they're good.

To answer your question, you can make them bolt up in the front but not in the back.  You'll need to put studs in your head on your '76 or older - which means you'll have to remove the "spigots".... two screws per spigot.  The backside probably won't mount up so nice.  If you want pics of how a '77/'78 looks with pipes on and what a K6 looks like "back there", I'll take some for you.
