1976 cb750 - First Project
« on: August 12, 2013, 11:31:33 AM »
Hi all.

Glad to be here.  A friend of mine sold me his 1976 CB750 and she needs some work (pics here).  He is also helping me learn and work on this bike.  Here is the list breakdown as of now:

Must Get:
Front Brake Caliper/Pads
Wiring Harness
Headlight
Carburetor Gaskets
Oil Filter
Oil
Brake Fluid

Should Get:
Grips
Tires
Spark Plugs
Fuel Filter
Chain
New hardware for all your rusty bolts

Could get:
Headlight Mounting Brackets
Exhaust
Front Fender
Tank in better condition
Fork seals and oil

I already had my first f-up when I tightened down one of the main jets to hard and cracked the aluminum body on a carb.  In the market for one of those!  If you have one PM me.

Here's to the open road!

I have a k6 myself that I totally went thru. I saw your post in the WTB section, pm me if you would like as I have my stock 76 rack just hanging out

The carbs on these bikes you practically want to do finger tight, and as some find out the hard way on the main jet some threads can show, it doesn't matter because it was made like that

Careful with your pilot jets, a PO stripped my #3. Very fine threads and don't need much torque at all

Don't trust me alone with a claw hammer and some pliers
