Bolts/Pinion for Mufflers
« on: April 29, 2009, 09:40:22 AM »
Does anyone know the length and bolt size for the original 4 into 4 mufflers attachment in the rear?

These bolts go through the footpeg bracket, both mufflers, then connect to the frame.  The parts store want $18 bucks a piece for these, and it seems like something I should be able to get at a hardware store, bolts and nuts.

It is part #18 and 24 in this diagram

That bolt has a "step" or shoulder on it.  ;)

The cmsnl.com website had this picture for part 90146-300-020, is this a different part than you are referring to?

Went to Lowes at Lunch, and the had standard shoulder bolts that fit, 6 inches by 1/2 inch for 98 cents, with washers and nuts, came to 4 bucks, zine plated steel, so it should suffice for now.

Thanks for the help on the shoulder suggestion
