Rusoleum seems to like this technique:

Spray, wait 15 minutes, spray, wait 15 minutes... Repeat.

Once I got the hammered black on the tank I hit it with a wet sand then clear coat. After the clear coat I used polishing compound and it turned out alright. I'll try to get pictures up at some point but I don't get home before dark (with these shorter days) and the shed where I've been working doesn't have much for lighting. It's where my tank is and I haven't moved it into the basement yet.

I atleast got the paint, ::) :P ;D Just kidding I am going to give this a go this weekend. I was going to try to get my whitewalls mounted but all my other parts haven't come in from hondapartsdirect  :'( , I wanted to get my oil pan, oil filter cover reinstalled before I took the front tires off. Well thats not gonna happen so I am going to give the hammered goods a go. I will show pics hopefully monday.

thinking about using the black on engine cases and some other parts as wrinkle paint has turned out the way I wI would like it to.

OFF TOPIC

CB650 where did you get your whitewalls and what size did you go with for the back tire on those comstars. Your bike looks great with those on it.

Sorry to get off topic.

OFF TOPIC 2

Sorry about this as well.  I've been following your bike a little cb650 because I'm probably doing a chop with by 550.  Where did you get your seat and what kind is it/what is it called?

Thanks
Chris

Hammered black, crappy pictures

I used rubbing compound, then clear coated it, then polished it.

It's looking pretty good, but more pictures would be really nice, lots of angles out in the daylight if you could, and maybe a few in the shade.  I know it's allot to ask, I've got that kind of life too.
This paint might be what I'm looking for too.

Great work, let's keep pushing the envelope of affordable, yet damn cool paintwork.

That hammered black seems pretty nice, here's a shot of the graphite gray I sprayed on in 2002, it's very close (in fluorescent lighting)

Tee hee hee :D, Yeah Tygrant that's me with my bug eye goggles and my best fire marshal bill face on after a few beers.... ;D ;D
DaytonGuy I made those emblems and I can say I won't make any more soon, they took me three hours to cutout and then took another three hours to clean them up with an exacto knife by hand.... they do look awesome and I have been waiting for three months to cut them out.

Here is a better one, I was gonna put it in the shamless post thread....But now that we are past the embarassing part....
This site my buddy did this from is priceless, you can take a photo of your face and inpose it behind a crazy hair do like I have here or even put it behind an afro puff, depending on the era. They have it setup so you can choose a hair style from the 50's, 60's, and the 70's and 80's styles are hilarious!!!! ;D ;D ;D
