Look this one over closely AND THEN, read about what all he's done to this one. Pretty involved, I'd say.
The "Hidden" headlight is a cool touch!
Yeeeha, it's finally done!!!!!
Here is the finished project I started about a year and a half ago. I started out with a 81 XS Special that I got from one of my buddies who has a street tracker. I built an aluminum tank, rear fender, chromoly swingarm, stainless mile pipes, and seat. I modified the frame, so I could route both carburetors out to the right side. I built two manifolds that curve to the right, and it works great! The headlights pop out of the number plate, and locks in place while in use. M4 built me a special set of carbon fiber mufflers. The tires are Maxxis D5 -7.5 x19 DT. The front wheel is off of an XS1100 road cruiser, and the rear is the stock front from the original bike. I machined the hubs to accept the sprocket, and rotor myself. My 13 year old son drilled the stock rotors.....Did a fine job, If I may say so! The rear tailight/brakelight is a Custom Dynamics LED strip that is "Frenched" into the rear hoop. Lots of carbon fiber goodies are used. The motor is kinda mild, but after the Dallas car show, I'm taking It out and I'm gonna build it up to a 750. Then, it's time to build another....maybe I'll build my boy a SR500 tracker! Thanks for all the inspiration, ideas, and advice from all of you guys on 650's!
