350f carb adjustment
« on: March 22, 2009, 07:57:04 AM »
Rebuilt my carbs for a 1974 Honda 350f. placed back on bike. The bike runs great only problem is that I have to place the choke in the open position for the bike to run. When I close off the choke the bike dies. Where did I go wrong. Just a not with the choke fully open the bike runs great at all speeds? I'll read through past posts but in the mean time any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Ron

OMG. Disregard. I just watched youtube and another startup of a 350f. Makes sense. I need breakfast! Thanks anyway :)

That's the way it's supposed to be.  You should only have to close the choke to start it when the engine is cold, and then you open it as it warms up.  Closing the choke when the engine is warm will cause it to stall.

Thanks. By the way my son just returned this week off spring break. He was skiing at Vail. He said he's had enough of New York weather and is ready to move that way after college.
Thanks

this past week's weather is not typical of Colorado this time of year.   ;)

should be snowing by tomorrow... we nixed snowboarding this weekend from lack of any good conditions whatsoever.
