NOMINATE for Bike Of The Month - March 2009
« on: February 12, 2009, 12:13:06 PM »
Nominate a Cafe-ish bike for March 2009 BOTM

Most of us have an idea of what this bike would look like.  The basic minimum I can come up with (with help) is street legal, low handlebars (euro or lower) and a flat seat (stock or otherwise).  I have heard it needs to be loud too.  So, if y'all feel additional minimums should be added or the current ones need to be altered, please let me know.  Oh, it must be a Honda, lol.

Poll Thread for nomination type
http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=46056.0

Other requirements per Heff's rules;
  • One nomination per member
  • Bike/owner must be a member of this forum
  • Members can make multiple seconds, thirds, whatever...
  • The bike must at least be seconded before the nomination can be accepted by the owner
  • Owner/member of the bike must accept the nomination to be included in the BOTM vote thread
  • And the rest in this thread - http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=8929.0

Nothing new, just a reminder.

The nominations thread will run until the 21st of February.

Voting thread is here - http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=47003.0

Mec's bike is in a class by itself, I mean how can even a REALLY nicely done cafe treatment compete with a one off custom frame made by the owner himself, as well as the hundred other super cool race mods on that bike? Maybe save that nomination for racer month, or simply dub it ***BIKE OF THE YEAR (CENTURY??)*** right now and be done with it.

That thing is a work of art, but its NOT a cafe bike, its a RACER.
Maybe we should make "Street Legal" part of the requirements for this month?
Just my 2 cents.
Mec believe me I LOVE your bike, I am definitely not "hating" on it.

Ok, for this cafe nomination I can completely agree that Street Legal is part and parcel of the Cafe culture.

I'll take back my nomination and reserve the right to re-nominate for a more appropriately themed month  ;D

Not trying to stir the pot but i see no reason why Mec's bike wouldn't be street legal, but i also agree that it is a racer rather than a cafe bike.

Street Legal has been added to the minimum requirements.

We could use some more nominations.  I made a suggestion above.  Would MRIECK's bike be one?  If so, there is another suggestion.  Industrial Cafe might be another one but not the pics with the photoshop mods, lol.  There are some BOTM winners from last year like chopstar (I think) with Four Pack and chrislib.  Maybe even seaweb and heff.

I know there are others, the names just do not come to mind.

Hey Heff, can previous BOTM winners not be nominated again?

well, that's been a "rule" since we started but not actually in the set of bike of the month rules that are posted.
i said in some thread way back when, that a bike of the month can only win once per year... if its been over a year, then nominate them again if you like.

I know there are others, the names just do not come to mind.

mine has never won, entered twice and i turned down the 3rd try because we couldn't bare 3 humiliations in a row... seeing this month's competition i think it'd still be hard pressed to win.  although, i think its more cafe than any of the trailer queens already nominated.    ;D :P ;D  jk guys!
