New helmet..
« on: February 13, 2009, 09:12:45 AM »
Im looking at getting a new helmet. I currently have some low end icon that is about 3 years old and while it has done its job it fails in a lot of areas. It fogs like no tomorrow, if im going more then 40mph and turn the head the visor will pop up and the wind noise it horrible.

Im currently looking at the outlaw bandit and curious if anyone has any experiance w/ it? I know there are other good helmets out there but I really like the look of this one so if I get some good feedback on it then I will buy it.

Also does anyone have a hookup on simpons gear.. Saving money on this would be great.

Looks to be a good solid helmet...

Never personally seen or owned one.

One thing though, didn't say anything but ani-fog this and that. Usually they state that kind of thing as though it were a feature don't they?

Bought a HJC. Good price and good reviews. This model has good warm weather air flow and I don't have fogging problems. I got the fancy pants paint scheme as there was a deal on eBay (wanted plain white) and after a little pondering it was an image of a side car monkey wearing a HJC with his head about a half inch from the deck that tipped the scale. Fits good, noise not bad IMO and quality is pretty good too.

It's not going to look so good if it doesn't fit well.

Wow, I have not seen a Simpson since the 80's.  And that brand helmet was the one to have if you could afford it.
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

I am going to find a local place that sells simpsons helmets and try them on. If they fit my head right I will be picking up the outlaw bandit. I will report back after I get it.

Over on another cafe racer talk forum there is a whole thread about how owns a bandit and how great they are. There is at least 50 people saying they own one and like it.
I don't own one so I can't personally say.
