Just found my new dream toy, lolol.
« on: February 26, 2009, 03:26:38 AM »
I have always been interested in flying, even purchased thousands of dollars of gear and training materials. Never even considered buying an aircraft, but it is a dream after all, lol. I like wasting time by browsing different places to buy planes and came across a gorgeous Jet Trainer from British Military on Ebay. If I ever do win the Mega Millions lottery I will buy one after I've paid for all the training needed, lolol.

Hmm.

$300 reserve not met...

I'm afraid my garage isn't that big (and anyway, it's full of bikes!)

I can envision doing charters around the San Francisco Bay Area doing high end sightseeing tours with one of these. Charter out to rich Marin County people for these awe inspiring tours, lolol. Not really but just imagine an old warbird zipping around the Bay, lolol.

Even better would be a quick trip to Reno for a weekend getaway, lol. Get there faster than any airline could get there, lolol.

I've always wondered why there aren't more small charter planes around....is it becaue the insurance would be too high?

Yes, especially in todays economy with all the insurance companies in deep trouble, they would charge you three arms and 7 legs, just for the first 6 months, and only then with a lot of type hours. You would have to charge over $5,000 per hour to cover just the insurance and fuel costs, lol.
