Not exactly a newbie... More like a prodigal son...
« on: February 06, 2009, 08:06:40 AM »
Okay, I registered waay back. Then sort of forgot about the site for a while, so I figured a reintroduction is in order.
My name's Alex, I'm from south Alabama (Gulf Shores to be exact). I ride a 72 cb750 that I've been modifying as I ride. She started bone stock and is becoming a cafe racer. The build is posted on www.dotheton.com under big arse projects... The topic is titled "Alex's 72 cb750... as cheaply as possible" and it's probably three pages back by now if anyone's interested. Here are a couple of pics; a crappy cell phone camera pic of "before", and a nicer big-boy camera pic of "Currently"
Here's "Before"

Here she is now... well I've done small things since this pic was taken but whatever

Okay y'all! see ya 'round the forums!

Thanx for the welcome's!
The wrap hasn't added any noticeable performance, but the pipe now just gives my leg a "Hey that's hot" instead of a "Holy Sh*t, let's go to the burn ward!!!" when I come into contact with the pipes. I mainly did it for the look, which I'm very happy with (there's some nasty chrome under it). When you do put it on, your pipes are gonna smoke and smell for a bit, but it goes away. I painted the wrap with Krylon bbq and stove paint from walmart ($4.55 a can) it's good to 1200 degrees and so far(2 months) it has worked very well!
