Hey everyone,
Been awhile since I've checked in, since I started a new job in December and it is winter time. Anyway, some guys at work were talking about riding motorcycles and my ears perked up cuz if it has 2 wheels, it's cool with me, ya know? So it gets around to me, and I tell the group that I used to ride to Denver and back, daily. At first, they were all nodding saying things about how long of a ride it was, and how hardcore I was to make the ride. All that until I told them (proudly) that I rode a 1975 cb750k. That's when all the smart-aleck comments started. I realized that I was in the company of a bunch of V-Twin 8000cc or larger only riders.
Well I was outnumbered, so it was pretty much useless trying to defend my trusty steed. What really bothers me is none of these narrow minded jerks knows the history of the old 750-4. The place we work is a large mechanical maintenance facility, so the only comeback I had that got any of them, was "not only am I a better Motorcycle historian than all of you put together, but I'm also a better Motorcycle mechanic. As a matter of fact, I'm a better Mechanic, period!" That didn't shut them up, but it took the attention of my beloved cb750k5. How do you all deal with these jerks?
