Cables are too long with new bars

I got some superbike handlebars and the cables are now too long. Specifically with the throttle cables though, do I buy new cables and then get a kit to shorten them or is it possible to find shorter cables that fit? I looked around for a while and couldn't find much on this. If there's a good thread that I missed link me up and I'll shut up. :)

If the difference isn't too much, you can take up the slack by re-routing the cables into a slightly larger loop, but the ideal solution is to get shorter cables.  Z1 Enterprises does a good job of telling you which cables will work for your bike with shorter or longer handlebars, or you could just go straight to Motion-pro.

I was lucky when i got my drag bars. My local honda shop has a TON of old dusty parts. They let me dig around until I found some cables that would work..

You didn't happen to keep any part numbers did you?  I'm wanting drag bars for my '74 and will probably need cables.

No, sorry. They didn't have any p/ns either, so they gave them to me for 6 bucks a piece....

So I have this much info for the push and I can find the same for the pull cable. Are there other years that used the same hardware but a shorter length?:

As Gordon mentions you could reroute them. For example the throttle cables can go in front of the headlight shell and down/under the left side so they run along the frame. I have this on my cafe K2 - looks clean and works with stock cables.

Yep, reroute with my clubmans- leaves a little in front of the headlight but I'm OK with that.
