some random questions
« on: February 18, 2009, 02:24:34 AM »
So im putting things back together and need some help with a few things
In the first picture, what goes here? I cant remember.
picture 2, are there bolts that go through the marked holes?
and number 3 how do i get the main sprocket off? it seems as if the splines act as dogs to hold the sprocket on.

I presume this is a 750 we are talking about?
I can't help much as I'm a 650 user but the sprocket question is common enough, undo the two small bolts on either side of the sprocket centre and then rotate the holding washer until the splines line up, this should allow you to remove the small sprocket. :)

Edit: now I've found my glasses I can see you have removed the small bolts, the only thing that is keeping that front sprocket on would be slight burring from usage, a wee gentle few taps with a hammer might bring the desired effect for you or push it back on and do some minor filing with a small flat edged file.

I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

Nothing is mounted there if that's what you mean. Screw is just another point for torqueing the head gasket.

OK, I am not sure you took it apart, but if you did or will, simply keep the screws with the valvecovers, and it will be easy to see what goes where..

Looking in a parts book always tells you what goes where
