Yeah just picked it up, but all the cargo fittings and windjammer are going to stay. I am moving it to fund my next project.

Lucky me it runs too!  ;D

Good God man, take all that extra stuff off!  The paint does look nice though.  Too bad it doesn't match any factory color schemes, you could've made a good bit selling it off.  But like I said it is nice paint.
That's hilarious, looks like your ducking to save your neck from that windshield.  I do think it's the first wheelie I've seen on a fairing'ed bike, new sporty stuff not withstanding.

If its unmolested its an early 73, if its been dicked with (parts changed) I say 73 or 74.

If you want to see wheelies search 10 sec bagger.. :o

Nice find.  I wonder how tall the passenger needs to be to reach those footpegs.
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

If you "cafe" that nice bike Shenanigans I'll throw pies at you! >:( ;D
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

I like the sidecases - very useful - though I would get ride of the top box. Looks like a great find! How much?  ;)

Hey with the distance he went, that bagger gear would have been very helpful, especially the screen! Pure touring right there.

It does look like a comfy tourer. Keep 'em on and use that as your grocery/tour bike, I like it.

Now that I have ridden it around and put some miles on it, I would have to say it would be a shame to take it apart. Its rare that a bike like this, is as well done as it is. The bike was very well cared for by the P.O's P.O. Not so much the P.O.
It will make a great bike for someone looking for a bike like it, but I am not that person.
I do kind of like it, I did not even notice at first that I was leaving my visor up while riding. Plus it has a very natural riding position. What I did not like was the added feeling of false security that having all the junk around adds.
Now what gets me is this touring bike has a massive (aluminum?) back sprocket, kind of odd on a "touring" bike (but fun for power wheelies). It also has a really nice grease insert to the swing arm.
As for comfort with taking it on a long trip, problem is that's what it was designed for... most bikes designed for long trips are ugly and to utilitarian. There is no fun in that. Now clip-ons to Alaska, THAT would be fun...  ;D

I will put it up for sale after next weekend. That way I have time to make sure everything is as should be. So if anyone wants it before it gets listed let me know.

What year is it, and where is the big? sprocket..
Production date 10/72

Its hard to take a good photo with the bags, but the sprocket is much bigger than the retainer or whatever it is called. I have yet to count the actual teeth, so for now it is just an assumption going off the size. I will get some better photos tomorrow.

Yup, everything you could see on that bike pointed to an early 73.. ;D

Sprocket should be 48T stock, and the chaincatcher is a bit smaller than the teeth..
