clutch sensor

Well, i'm at about 98% done with my complete restoration of my 750k3 and i'm not getting to the endless odds and ends of little things that would be really nice to have fixed/done correctly.  Back when this bike was pretty much running like a dream (Except for slipping out of fourth occasionally) which was right before i decided to tear it apart, i somehow managed (don't remember how) to rip one of the wires out of the clutch sensor on the clutch lever.  It's not that big of a deal, but now that my bike is all pretty and shiny (and a s#!t ton faster... 836 big bore...) it would be really nice to have that clutch sensor.  Any clue where i could find such a small part?  Or how about a radio shack style fix?

OK, I'll bite. What's a clutch sensor?

The two wires that go into your clutch lever.  They indicate whether or not you have the clutch disengaged.  For instance, right now because i don't have the wires connected, i have to be in neutral in order to start my bike.  But, if i had the clutch sensor hooked up correctly, i could pull the clutch and start the bike while i'm in 3rd if i wanted.  Make sense?

They debuted on the K3 model. That switch just snaps into position through a hole in the clutch lever mount. It's Part#35360-341-000. Looks to still be available from Honda and runs around $18.00.

I pulled out that wire from the clutch switch on a couple bikes. (Mean streak, I suppose.)
Anyway, the contacts and terminal plulled right out of the switch.  I was able to carefully dismantle the switch, reinsert the terminal and bend the ends back into place for retention and contact.  Been at least 5 years since the repair, still works.

Haven't felt the least bit mean since, though.  (Oh well, there went my credibility.)
