    Hey Terry,
I found what I was looking for originally, I found the info in a copy of Motorcycle Cruiser a
while back.  Today, I found that, if you will go to  vincentmotor.com,  you'll find that they have 4
models. 1. Black Shadow 2. Black Lightning "S" 3. Black Lightning "ST" & 4. Black Eagle.
The engine that they are using is the 1,000cc V-twin, RC51 Sportbike Engine. Check it out. I'm
not up to the point of being able to add links to a post yet.

                                                          Later on,  Bill

Very nice Bill, although I think I like Terry Prince's efforts better. (only because I always wanted a "real" Vincent) Here's a link to the Honda based Vincents:

Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

I like the Phase I Prototype the best as it appears to have a real Vincent engine and the styling isn't the down-in-front position.  The Black Shadow and others look like that "bowing" thing that dogs do when they want to play with you.

Nah, it's a Honda engine mate, just with the vincent logo. Cheers, Terry. ;D

I think the ones, w/ the Honda motor, are pretty sharp but, you're right, you can't beat the real thing. The main thing is, I can't afford to do anything except look at them. I want to thank you for the info on the real ones. they are truly a sight to behold. Later on, Bill

Honda builds a 50-degree V-Twin with pushrods and Vincent-style rocker covers?  :o

In perusing my honda dealer - and the honda web site - I found exactly 1 bike that looked "like a real bike" to me - the 919.

They just don't make-em like they used to.

That 919 is pretty sweet tho....

dont know why i didnt spot this poll before.................. oh well. the cafes and bobbers just seem to "speak" to me. my first non brit bike was a 72' ironhead "bobber" more correctly called a "short chopper" hardtail, paughco tapered leg springer front end with upswept paughco fishtail pipes. my first honda i wrecked a day and a half after getting it and i cafed it immediately.

Have always loved the fifties and sixties british motorcycle scene, not that I was there. Cafe all the way. Though I wouldn't mind waking up to the midnight warrior every morning. Half cruiser half sport bike. Cost way too much and way too many cc. Never utilize something like that...

I want something that weighs about  290- 320 lbs, has about 45-50 hp at rear wheel, nice wide bars, single or a twin, disc on front, electronic ignition, really good lighting , black, and everything sealed up well so that if I want to go off the beaten path I don't have to worry about it getting muddy or wet. handles well enough that I can go ear holing.

my main ride is a crotch rocket, but a classic one, 1988 honda hurricane 600. grandpa cbr :)  I like the faster handling and quicker acceleration over the cruiser style, and I have yet to get the 750 streetable so can't comment on how that feels.
k8 project, a long way from done.....
