How do I get a gif. format animation type thingy as my display pic?

You just have to resize it to fit within the 150 x 150 pixel limitation.

Oh well, at least we tried.  If you want to try some others or work on that one some more, here's what I used to resize the original gif you supplied:

It's a free, on-line image editor that will re-size animated gif images for you.

I don't, sorry.  There are several members here who currently have animated gif's as their avatars.  Perhaps if you find one of them and ask they'll be able to help you.  I thought it was just a matter of uploading it like any other picture, but I could be wrong. :-\


edit:  you know what?  You probably need to host the gif externally, like on Photobucket or some other free image hosting website, and then use the "I have my own pic" option in your profile settings.

thats what i just tried. but after you press change profile it comes up with a red box saying its to big.

I have a bunch that won't play here becuase the file size is too large.  Good luck shrinking it.
