I actually have two but I'm trying to get one running and driving. I intend to get them both going eventually but one has a few pistons fused to the cylinders. Anyhow I was just wondering if anyone might have any general suggestions, were to find parts, common problems etc. I'm fairly mechanically inclined but no mechanic, that and I have never done a project like this before so I'm sure all kind of surprises are waiting for me. Anyhow any input would be appreciated. parts sourcing is my main concern right now.
here is what i have
73 cb350f needs some love, mostly electrical, fuel tank is a rust bucket and the carbs were vary nasty. They are now striped and waiting on rebuild. This one has some general parts missing, chopped up wires and what not. It apparently has a cb750 front break, Im wondering if i need a 750 master cylinder. the transmission shifts and the motor turns over just fine. 9k miles
74 cb350f this one has a locked up motor. I have been tearing it down while waiting on parts for the other one. I did try for some time to break it loose kicking it but after bruising my foot I decided that the pistons had become one with the cylinders. I have the head of and its clear that at least one cylinder is utterly ruined. I have never dealt with this stuff so I don't know how much is to much to fix. Iv seen up to 1mm over pistons so I imagine they could be bored out. Anyhow this one is will likely be used for parts and be a back burner project. 3k miles
Thanks for any input
