Hey Fuzzy, have you thought about lap band surgery? At 400 pounds or thereabouts, you're putting massive pressure on your spine, hips, knees, ankles, etc but with all the drugs you're on you probably can't do a lot of exercise, and sitting around you're probably eating more than you'd like to?
I've put back on a lot of the 50 pounds I lost over the last year or so because I've got a crook foot and can't do the daily 3 mile walks I did to lose the weight, so I'm seriously thinking about lap banding, the surgery costs around $6K here in Oz, but if I'm too fat to stay in the Army Reserve I'll lose $20K (plus) per year, so for me at least, it's worth it, and I'm thinking that with medicaid, you might get it done for free? Cheers, Terry.
i've lost around 70 pounds over the last year. i'm still way too heavy but nowhere near as bad as before. i was at a high of 439 pounds 1 year ago today. i put on 170 in 1 1/2 years after i got hurt. i know i'll probably never be back to my ideal weight but i DO want to get rid of at least another 100 pounds.
MickeyX, believe me, i do everything the docs tell me, i like being in the hospital (away from my kitties) not at all. i was actually out nearly a week before they thought i would be, when i got hurt in 2007. they also told me i'd probably never be able to have anything near full use of my right arm, but hardheaded me, i worked at it and i have about 80-85% of it back.
