xl175 kick shaft
« on: March 23, 2009, 11:08:45 AM »
got a 75 honda xl175 with the aparently common problem of a broken kick shaft, was hoping to kind of cut splice and weld it back together, but after getting it apart, someone has already done that once which makes me leary of trying a second time.  was wondering if anyone here has seen or heard of an aftermarket supplied kick shaft for these old bikes as it appears honda has run out of NOS

Do you mean the shaft the kickstart fastens on to and has the gear on? Part No. 28251-362-000.
and have you tried www.westernhillshonda.net

(PS seems to fit most XL175)

It was an issue with these XL's. I just finished building one from two parts bikes, and unfortunately the second engine's shaft is broken,
