Guitars  ;D

I love fishing as well..

Mick

My! Quite the collection. Not a Les Paul guy although I do appreciate Les and the logs he begot!
Father to my favorite girl. I know it is seen as a job but I love it, so is it a hobby?... well if you could get paid!!
Research on things I obtain. Music, in  cassette tape, album, cd, wave form whatever.
Rehab of old music equipment as I am cheap and broke so I work with things I can attempt to fix.
Absurd art mostly sculpture and collage a' 3d.
Build electric basses and guitars, some stay others go. I also like finding the instruments that play well that others did not find on their radar. Uncommon gems abound.
Jobs I guess have become a hobby as I have had many, all interesting and I have learned something everywhere I have taken the pay.
Archery, but I have not figured put how to attach the stuff to the bike. Perhaps a side car.
Song writing and music as we are involved in the RPM project this month.
What ever is a hands on fix from the jack of all trades, master of none school of learning and teaching. I will try anything if I dont know any better.
Keeping my drinking friends out of trouble since I retired my pro stats a few years back, DD for those counting.
I do not work on Jeeps anymore as I got rid of all the projects last week and I learned yet again do not bite off more than you can chew. plus I will take two wheels @500#s over four @ 6000#s any day. Always searching for the next project or possibility... to keep me honest.

I play the harmonica and acoustic guitar. I attempt to paint. I like auto cross. I don't do it to win, it's just really dang fun. I like my job too. I know I get paid, I still consider it a hobby.

Saw dust making....used to drop trees on my old property and then would get a band saw mill come in to rip the logs down into boards, maple cherry ash ,white cedar,oak.......have built a couple canoes,(my avatar) a kayak and various pieces of funiture...I used to heat my house with wood and would joke that my house was always nice and warm because of all my mistakes....here is my latest project out of maple that I cut

Nice job. Did you biscuit-joint the doors??

I enjoy working with the 3/4" Birch ply-wood, but lately, I've been coming up with junk.

Must be nice getting your own would that's been planed properly....

I RC nitro, Fly fish (with all the gear...waders, hat, fly tying instruments, etc) refurbish Vintage bikes, play Tennis 3 times a week and soccer once a week.
 Hoping to join a league...

And play the Piano...working on another piece that's called, "In the Mood". It's a very nice Swing song.

Cheers

I'd like to repeat, "Spare Time?" ???  Well, I'm not quite as involved as a number of you are. I've got some model cars that I've had for years (used to build em, but kinda got away from that and kept them in case I get the chance and the want to do more with them). Used to do some leather work but didn't get too good at that (still got some basic tools, the swivel knife and rawhide mallet) Started kinda collecting road runner stuff, along with my road runner car AND THEN made a gal my wife, who ALSO had a road runner. Now the cars have been gone awhile and I've still got that collection that gets a new item now and then. Also kinda got an Indian motorcycle "diecast" collection (since I sure can't afford the real bikes and one of my diecasts is a 42' Four. Have always liked listening to the 50's and 60's Rock and Roll music and Still do! was kinda into racing slot cars years ago (some might not even know what I'm talking about) and could have gotten into that pretty well, except the fad died out and can't afford remote controlled cars. Liked to fish (haven't had the time or a convenient place to to that for some time (looks like I just might get to do some of that this Spring and /or Summer) I sometimes just liked to get out on the lake in a boat and fish for hours, not really caring if I caught anything or even got a bite (just to be out there ALONE, with no one but ME. ;) ). Now ALL that I've put here is in addition and secondary to Motorcycles that is. 8)

I do a little in astronomy but the UK weather usually cocks it all up >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(
I like clay pigeon shooting and all types of fishing apart from fly.
My father made his first rod in 1911 which I still have to this day.
It was only a part time job making one a week but he had a 6 month order book that only started to slack off in the early 70s when fiberglass rods became so cheap to buy.
I learned the job in the late 50s and 60s but slacked off a bit in my teens when the bikes took over.
I helped him when his eyes started to go and after he died in 74 i had about 3 months of orders to finish.
I didn't bother after that but I was still asked for cane rods by some of his old customers.
I built my first and last rod, a carbon coarse fishing match rod in 83 in Pascagoula MS. My son still has it and uses it on occasions.
Even just doing custom finishes on manufactured blanks takes that much time, the cost makes the finished article out of the reach of most fun fishermen.
With 2 years to go to 100 years since the first rod and coinciding with me reaching retirement, I might be tempted to carry on in a part time way.

Mountaineering (both winter and summer), ice climbing, snowboarding, cycling (mountain bikes and road bikes),learning Japanese (badly), and travel. I used to do more (boxing/kickboxing etc) but my main hobby (my job) takes up most of my time  ;).

Raising my kids (3) and playing with my pets (too many)
I know this says "other than bikes" but dirt bikes are my #1 sickness, I'll ride on ice or dirt, any where, any time.  The CB500 is my 1st street bike.
Next in line are LBC's (Little British Cars) I have 3 MGB's but only one runs right now. I restored my 1970 B 100% by myself. Learned how to weld and paint so I wouldn't have to pay someone else to do it. Going to British car shows fits in this catagory.
Backpacking with my friends the "Mad Dogs"
Building stuff for home improvement and fixing whatever is broken.

Thanks for the compliment on the B's, my long term plans (if I stumble across a bunch of money is to build a vintage racer out of one of the yellow ones... someday.
Bucky is the coolest cat in the world, we have an old crabby cat that acts just like Bucky but is not a siamese and a goofy dog that acts like Satchel, dumber than a rock but cute as heck. Another cat we have reminds me of Chubby Hugs and one like Foodar. It's my favorite cartoon.

Not in any order
1. drink beer
2. Flower and Vegetable gardening
3. Taking care of my 5 grandkids ( not all at the same time)
5. 5 dogs and 5 cats
6. traditional Okinawan Karate (goju Ryu)
7. restoring old furniture (fixing my furniture after my family breaks it. They have this ability to age my furniture)

I just realized that my life gets in the way of my riding! Oh well, when I do get to ride, it's always a good thing. :)

Okay first, I missed the outboards.  Way cool.

I thought this would be a good place to post a pic or two on a small project I am about to finish for the Seaport(see sig below).  This started as a way to use scrap Okumme marine plywood left over from the kit boat the foundation sells.  I've made these dock cleats and have fiddled around on making canoe paddles.  Then, as we were making a new mast for the foundations 42' Dory boat, they needed cleats for the rigging on it, so I took the basic design and made some from Sapele(darker in color, and a harder wood) marine plywood.

For a hobby I fabricate things out of metal. I have built lots of stuff over the years, my most recent product is a small 1 rail trailer that the wifes Subaru can pull. I would like to do a track day and it's a 2 1/2hr drive. Almost finished before fenders. I may make a few more of these to finance another project. I made it so the axles remove for easy storage, my next one will break in half so it goes into the Subaru wagons hatch. Maybe in a box or??

I built my own hydraulic tubing bender to build the baja. I refurbished the inside of my wifes horse trailer and am still working on my Mazda rotory powerd VW Baja project(couple years now :-\).  I really enjoy making stuff, it scares the wife with all the sparks and such. I guess I should move those gas cans...
