so i picked up the cb350f and the restore begins next weekend just gonna start ordering parts this weekend for it this is her in her present uncleaned state

I like that white part on the tank, would look really good w/ a dark green pinstripe right inside the perimeter.

umm little bit of rubbing compound, then a lot of scrubbing with blue magic polish

See? She's really not that crappy looking once you polish her up. Actually it's starting to look quite nice. These old bikes usually get a second look when people see the chrome and realize, hey that's not a Harley!!

worked more on just cleaning her up without taking her apart

busted out the rubbing compound, the mothers, and the blue magic

PLUS also i need to get new front turn signal lenses that match the rear one anyone know where i can get them nice and cheap thank you

I think your Honda Dealer still has the lens and they're cheap last I checked.

ordered some parts for the bike would post the pics of how they look like in person but my camera isn't working

these came in the mail already

mirrors i got

taillight

i like the design of the taillight even though right now there isn't a way to mount in

the back screws spacing is a quarter of an inch too long to fit in the factory holder aka the baby arm which i never really liked so they will stay in a box till i can have something custom build to hold the taillight snug up almost to the grab-bar and ill most likely cut the license plate bracket off the new taillight but the taillight job is custom and we all know custom costs money and for a full college student that is money i don't have

the rest of the parts im waiting on that i've ordered is

new levers
new handlebars (gp touring style hope they look good if not send em back and get something else)
new grips
new turn signal lenses
new throttle case
& new front reflectors (in red because i got an amazing deal on them and i wanted to see how red looks like because i dream of repainting the bike in the same scheme that it is but black with red accent on the tank and a white strip on the inner of the accent and repaint the 350 emblem red, its an idea)

thats all the money i could spend this month its kinda hard to find work when ur full time college student

ohh i forgot too CrashBar is sending me some stuff for the bike that i had many difficulties finding he said he is sending the stuff a couple things i couldn't find and some other odds and ends

i am more excitied about the stuff from CrashBar then my other stuff coming in

all the stuff is ext. things , i am way too scared to get into the engine and i don't wanna lose motivation in the project so early so we work on the outside , probably in a month i'll have a pretty 350f that doesn't run but then we will get to the engine

anyways i am typing alot and im sorry that i put restore in the title since i am not putting her to stock , even though i will always keep the original stuff so a cb person could make her oem very quickly but i don't think i'm gonna get rid of the bike i'm not one to flip things

probably the next things ill order is

tank restore kit
carb(s) gasket kit
12v charger (no need to get a battery and sparks if i just wanna make sure the electricals work fine

i wish i could go out and get all the stuff but money doesn't grow on trees and homework doesn't get itself done

it seems everything i do on this bike just #$%*s it up more and more, it was in a crappy state when i got it and every time i try to fix/redo anything on the bike i somehow find away to screw it up more all i can do right is a polish it and this was suppose to take the stress off my life but it just keeps adding more i don't know what to do, becuase if i keep screwin up the little things what the #$%* am i going to do when i get to the big stuff

You didn't say what you did to mess up; don't worry someone else has already done it and it can be fixed. Keep at it.

Just a little encouragement, keep pluggin away at it, it's worth it.

It's kind of like that time your brother pantsed you when your middle school crush came over to do homework in the sixth grade. You were pretty ripped back then, but let it sit for a few years, you'll laugh because now she's pregnant and living in Tampa, still trying to get her modeling career off the ground, and you realize you brother maybe just saved your ass by showing her your giblets ten years ago.

Don't worry about getting frustrated at the bike or it needing infinity billion things, just keep it running, make sure you keep your ride/repair ratio nice and high, and maybe buy another bike to abuse when the 350's acting up. I have a bridgestone 50cc that I beat like it owes me money whenever I have a bad day. I can hear it softly sobbing in the garage right now.
